New kitchen ready
Thanks to a programme of fund raising master minded by Centre Manager, Maureen Richardson BEM and a grant of around £10,000 from the Lancaster City Council Take Pride Community Fund, the main kitchen in The Centre is now finished and ready for use.
It looks fantastic and will open up all sorts of new opportunities to organise events and luncheon clubs.
Maureen has said:
” I’d like to give a very big thanks to the small band of volunteers and tradesmen who have helped to realise our dream. It’s been a long journey but well worth it “
A representative of the Lancaster City Council’s Environmental Health Department has visited and checked the kitchen and has said in her report ‘It has been refurbished to an excellent standard’ and this review has led to a rating again of level 5 for Food Hygiene.
The next challenge is to find catering size pots and pans, utensils and large amounts of crockery and cutlery. Anyone with ideas about how to acquire these should contact Maureen on firstname.lastname@example.org or tel: 07745 798337
