Garden Safari triumph
The newly formed Halton Gardening group have been celebrating an amazingly successful Garden Safari on July 5th and 6th .
Fortunately he Safari was blessed with a wonderful sunny weekend and this definitely helped to attract lots of visitors.
About 190 people enjoyed the opportunity to visit 11 gardens and Halton itself. They came from near and far including Stockport, Leeds, Wakefield, Garstang and Kendal, as well as local villages.
The presence of The Centre on the Visit Lancashire website seems to be helping to make our wonderful village better known.
Monica Williams, the main organiser, said:” The garden group was delighted to have raised over £800 from sales of tickets, plants and teas for garden projects round Halton.
Thank you to everyone who made it such an enjoyable and successful occasion.”
