Chair Person Required

Halton Community Association (HCA), the organisation that oversees the running of The Centre @ Halton, is in need of a new Chair Person.

Our Chair for the last 4 years, Dr Peter Nightingale, has now stepped down to spend more time with his family and pursuing other passions. We thank him for his gracious leadership and wonderful support.

The Chair Person is responsible for supporting and encouraging the excellent staff at The Centre. The role is to ensure that each meeting is planned effectively, conducted according to the constitution and that matters are dealt with in an orderly, efficient manner.

During short monthly evening meetings, the Chair simply introduces each item and requests contributions. Minutes are recorded and tasks are delegated. It is the Chair’s job to make sure the meeting keeps to time, and appropriate decisions are made and acted upon.

Taking on the Chair’s role is rewarding and enjoyable. It offers the chance to help and support others, to develop skills and to stay challenged. If you are recently retired or looking for new volunteering opportunities please do consider this role. Importantly you can help to influence and support others to contribute to the future development of The Centre.

If you enjoy working with people and building relationships, chairing meetings for HCA will help to bring people together to discuss important community topics and this can be very rewarding.
