Come and join Hearts of Halton WI, make new friends, have some fun and get involved.
In January 2022 Hearts of Halton WI moved to the Centre @ Halton on Low Road. Do join us, we’ve been meeting here for a year now and we’d love to welcome you. We meet at 7.15pm on the 3rd Wednesday of the month.
We usually have a speaker, entertainment or an activity, time for a brew and something tasty, with some socialising. Then we hear from our President and our Secretary with the latest news, events, information or campaigns, there’s always something of interest to hear about.
Last year we heard speakers on topics including Life on Broadway, the History of Chocolate, an Introduction to Astrology, Death Matters, and the History of the Royal Albert, as well as a Fish’n’Chip Supper and an excellent birthday party in December. In 2023 we have another interesting range of talks and activities lined up:
18th January Quiz Night
15th February Members Night and Resolutions (WI campaigns)
15th March Tai Chi (for arthritis)
19th April The Life and Times of a GP
17th May The TrussellTrust (Morecambe Food Bank)
21st June The Benefits of Meditation
19th July Songs of Lancashire
No meeting in August but a visit or an outing (to be confirmed)
20th September Barrow to Baghdad and Back Again
18th October AGM / Cheese & Wine
15th November Craft Night
20th December Hearts Birthday Party
What else do we do? In good weather we have a walking group, now and then we meet up for lunch or a coffee and catch up, or afternoon tea, and we enjoy the occasional coach trip and day out. There are opportunities to go on courses and outings with LFWI (Lancashire Federation) and other local WI groups. We are open to suggestions too!
Fancy giving Hearts of Halton a try? Don’t be shy, we are a friendly bunch.
